The Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation is pleased to announce that Dan Sanchez has joined the team as the Marketing & Engagement Director. The following interview provides additional information about Sanchez and his role with the Foundation.
Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation (PDFF): Welcome aboard. Tell us a bit about your background.
Dan Sanchez (DS): I was born and raised in Delaware. I received a full academic scholarship to the University of Delaware, where I earned a BA in Theatre Production. Through my professional work in the theatre, I found my way to marketing, communications, and event production. I spent the last four years as the Director of Communications for the Beau Biden Foundation. Prior to that, I served as the Social Media Manager for Mayor Mike Purzycki and the City of Wilmington, as well as Director of Communications and Marketing for Mayor Purzycki’s first mayoral campaign.
PDFF: Tell us about what attracted you to the Foundation specifically and what inspired you to want to join the team.
DS: Jim Henson once said, “When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world. My hope is to leave the world a little better for having been there.” Those words have always spoken to me. The values of both Pete du Pont and the Freedom Foundation align with this concept. Gov. du Pont once said, “We need people who have bold vision that shows where America needs to be going and how we can get from where we are to those places.” For me, this is the same sentiment and one that I know we can help come to fruition through the work of the Foundation. When the opportunity arose to join PDFF, I jumped at the chance to help entrepreneurs make the world a little better.
PDFF: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
DS: As I mentioned previously, the arts are something about which I’m very passionate. You will likely find me enjoying a play, musical, or movie with my daughter and girlfriend in my free time. Anything creative, really.
PDFF: Anything you would like to add?
DS: The entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in my family. Through the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation, I can help families like mine achieve the American dream by providing a clear and supportive path to make that dream a reality.
